aspire… have an excellent opportunity for a Debt Collection Manager to join a major
blue-chip organisation in the Midlands
Reporting to the Head of Credit Management , the objective of the role is to ensure Company bad debt and involuntary churn are continually reduced in line with budgeted targets
Key Tasks
1. To develop and maintain effective working relationships with Customer Services & Sales in driving profitable customers.
2. To drive Team Managers to recruit, train, develop and motivate a team of Risk Advisors and ensure resources are applied to provide maximum efficiency.
3. To protect the company’s interests by keeping debtor & churn levels within company targets and ensuring cash collection is optimised.
4. To identify operational enhancements to drive up profitability without compromising Debt targets.
5. Drive & lead projects which result in a step change in Credit performance, Customer Service or operational costs. Provide feedback to allow projects to be introduced with minimum impact.
6. Manage the department within agreed budget and headcount.
7. Deputise for Head of Credit Management
Candidate Specification
• 5 Years Credit Management experience – preferably in the communications or utility industry
• Extensive background of middle management in a fast moving environment
• Detailed understanding of debt prevention techniques in a high volume consumer environment.
• Proven track record of operational management coupled with influencing change
• Detailed understanding of Debt recovery and outsourcing agencies
• Graduate & ICM qualification desirable
• Project Management methodology
• Can demonstrate Credit industry best practice and benchmarking
• Good analytical and evaluation skills which will include the need to deliver business cases and performance presentations.
In return you will be offered a basic salary of up to £50,000, Car Allowance (£6,000), Bonus (10% - 30%), Private Healthcare and Pension.
